Boos and hisses to the UCI who failed miserably to react to the doping debacle which took over the Tour de France and looks like being the major talking point in the cycling world for some time to come.

A special mention goes to head honcho Heinz Verbruggen who took time out from his holiday to visit the Tour for a couple of days and failed to make the UCI's position clear.

It would appear that cycling's govrning body has hopped up on the fence and is intent on staying there. Is it any wonder that the spectre of systematic drug abuse continues to haunt our sport with leadership like this?
